What is the model?

Agile ATGC = Adaptability + Transparency + Growth + Customer focus.

It gives you four “pillars” or “base pairs” of transformation that can be combined into a whole system — exactly like DNA creates life.

A – Adaptability

  • Adaptive Mindset: Respond to change

T – Transparency

  • Teamwork: Collaboration across roles

G – Growth

  • Growth Mindset: Learn continuously and embrace experiments

C – Customer

  • Customer Focus: Deliver value early and often.

Roadmap of transformation

Agile DNA (ATGC) is not just a framework, but a self-replicating system: it grows, mutates (adapts), and strengthens with each iteration.

Road to Agile Genome - Agile ATGC Steps in Transformation

1. Discover the DNA (Assessment & Awareness)

  • Adaptability (A): Assess how flexible teams and leadership are when responding to change.

  • Transparency (T): Map current flows of information and visibility. Identify bottlenecks or silos.

  • Growth (G): Evaluate learning culture, feedback loops, and skill development practices.

  • Customer (C): Understand current customer involvement and measure actual value delivery.

Output: Baseline Genome — a clear picture of where the organization stands.

2. Define Core Base Pairs (Vision & Principles)

  • Co-create a shared vision of transformation using ATGC as the guiding compass.

  • Translate ATGC into a practical model in your context

  • Align leadership commitment around these principles and model buy-in.

Output: Transformation model.

3. Prototype the Helix (Pilot & Experiments)

  • Select a few pilot teams to live the ATGC principles.

  • Run short cycles with safe-to-fail experiments.

  • Measure results through both outcomes (customer value) and behaviors (principle adoption).

Output: Early learnings that shape the practices + culture

4. Replicate & Scale (Learning Loops)

  • Spread proven practices from pilots across other teams.

  • Create internal champions (Agile DNA carriers).

  • Establish feedback cadences (retrospectives, communities of practice, customer reviews).

Output: The ATGC model replicated like DNA, building organizational muscle.

5. Sustain Evolution (Continuous Adaptation)

  • Regularly re-assess ATGC maturity levels

  • Strengthen adaptability by embedding inspect & adapt into governance.

  • Keep customer-centricity alive with ongoing discovery and co-creation

Output: Living DNA of agility — not a one-off transformation but a continuously evolving organism.

Investment of time

You do not need to jump all in, but you can go step by step and proceed next only when the results of the previous phase are confirmed.

1. Discover DNA - 1 week

2. Define base pairs - 4 weeks

3. Prototype the Helix - 3 months

4. Scale - depending on the company size, it can be from 3 months to up to 2 years

5. Sustain - coaching and training per need, recommended for the next 1 year after internal capability is built enough to fully take over all
